Job summary

Koorsen Fire and Security in Dayton, OH is hiring an experienced Security Technician to install and service security systems including intrusion, video surveillance, access control, intercom, and monitoring. The role requires reading diagrams, maintaining safety practices, and delivering excellent customer service.

Successful candidates will have 4+ years of security installation experience, valid driver’s license, and the ability to meet licensing and vendor certification requirements.

Qualifications

SALARY $19-35/HOUR DEPENDING UPON EXPERIENCE

Responsibilities

• The installation and service of security products and systems, including Intrusion, Video Surveillance, Access Control, Intercom, and Monitoring
• Install security products and systems per drawings.
• Service and troubleshoot systems to diagnose problems and identify solutions.
• Ensure customers understand the functionality of their system.
• Interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally.
• Demonstrate an understanding of and follow all safety regulations and practices.
• Open-minded willingness for continual learning

Required

• 4 + years of security installation or security service experience
• Read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.
• Experience with electronic testing devices.
• Pass drug and background screenings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Able to meet state licensing requirements and vendor certifications.
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred

• Security, Fire Life Safety, or Low Voltage experience
• Access and Video Manufacturer’s certifications
• Proficiency working in Microsoft Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Basic understanding of IT functionality

Physical Demands

• Able to safely and effectively use general hand and power tools.
• Lift and carry a minimum of 75 lbs. Push and pull more significantly than 75 lbs.
• Climb a ladder reaching at least 12 feet and use a man lift to perform services.
• Exposure to outside weather conditions, temperature changes, and loud noises
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.

Hiring Process (in Addition To An Interview)

• New hires must complete the I-9 Verification form within three days of being hired. This form is required by the U.S. Department of Justice and Immigration and Immigration and Naturalization Services. It is used to verify your identity and right to work in the United States.
