Job description

AWS Training and Certification (T&C) is seeking an innovative Security Technical Program Manager (TPM) to strengthen our vendor security programs and drive process improvements. This role combines technical security expertise with program management to enhance T&C’s security posture, streamline vendor security reviews, and implement scalable solutions. Working alongside our existing Security TPM, you will help shape security strategy, identify process efficiencies, and ensure robust security standards across all vendor relationships.

Key job responsibilities

You will dive deep into AWS security controls and vendor security reviews, identifying opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains. This includes supporting under‑resourced security reviews, proactively finding opportunities to batch similar vendor scenarios, and developing streamlined approaches for common use cases. You’ll work closely with T&C and AWS Security to validate security features of internal and external technologies, coordinate documentation requirements, and implement automated monitoring solutions.

You will develop and maintain technical documentation, including runbooks, architectural diagrams, and threat models. Working with our existing Security TPM, you’ll create and implement tracking tools for ongoing security compliance, ensuring teams maintain robust security standards while reducing management overhead. You’ll also manage a T&C Service Owner Community, establish best practices and standardized approaches that raise the bar for vendor security management.

In this role, you will serve as a technical security advisor, evaluating proposed features and new 3P technologies to identify and reduce security risks before implementation. You’ll identify impacts of tech adoption, suggest solutions where gaps exist, and strive to create and maintain zero trust environments. You’ll collaborate with security owners in T&C to scale implementation of automated security tooling, monitoring, and alerting solutions to wrap around external party tools and integrated SaaS products. You’ll also support security review escalations as needed.

A day in the life

Process improvement and innovation are central to this position. You will analyze current security workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to streamline processes while maintaining robust security standards. Through these initiatives, you’ll help teams achieve significant reductions in security review and management time while strengthening T&C’s overall security posture.
