Deloitte's GPS division seeks a seasoned Security Lead to supervise a team of PERSEC/PHYSEC professionals. You will manage delivery of clearance processing, coordinate with senior leadership, and ensure compliance with SOPs across a fast-paced, on-site environment in Bethesda, MD and McLean, VA. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Required are a TS/SCI with Polygraph and 8+ years in Personnel or Physical Security, plus willingness to travel and co-locate full-time.

Work You'll Do
  • Team Leadership & Task Management: Supervise a team of 10-15 Personnel and Physical Security Specialists.
  • Manage schedules, workloads, performance reviews, and ensure all contract deliverables and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Client Advisement & Close Support: Act as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for government clients.
  • Provide daily, on-site consultative support, briefing senior leadership on security posture, risk mitigation, and operational bottlenecks.
  • Personnel Security (PERSEC) Oversight: Oversee the end-to-end clearance processing lifecycle.
  • Resolve complex crossover issues, direct continuous vetting workflows, and ensure the team accurately utilizes Scattered Castles, DISS, and internal databases.
  • Physical Security (PHYSEC) Oversight: Direct the processing and validation of Visitor Access Requests (VARs), badge issuance, and access control.
  • Ensure all SCIF entry/exit protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are flawlessly executed.
  • Process Improvement: Identify workflow inefficiencies across both PERSEC and PHYSEC domains.
  • Design and implement new SOPs to accelerate clearance processing and streamline visitor control operations.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 8+ years of experience in Personnel Security or Physical Security oversight.
  • 3+ years of experience leading or supervising a team in a security management environment.
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required.
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities within a work model that requires professionals to co-locate in person 5 days per week in Bethesda, MD and McLean, VA.
  • Ability to travel 5-50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred:

  • Experience designing and implementing operating procedures in security clearance processing and visitor control operations
  • Experience with security controls assessments, security governance, or security policies, procedures and standards

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $113,000 to $188,400.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
