Job description

About Fluidstack

We exist to make humanity more free. For most of human history, you farmed or you starved. Technology gave people more time for the things they wanted to do, instead of things they had to do. Powerful AI will be the biggest lever for human choice we've ever built - but only if models are aligned with what humanity actually wants. There are groups building AI who don't share these goals. Whoever deploys frontier compute infrastructure fastest will decide whether AI expands human freedom or shrinks it.

We're singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack. We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them - with teams spanning hardware and software. Speed and scale are our key differentiators. Come be a part of building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI.

We hire people who care deeply about this problem space. If that is you, please apply!

How We Operate
  • Be a barrel. Full autonomy. Own things end to end, take on scope without being asked, no permission required to operate outside your core role.

  • Insane urgency. We drive everything forward as fast as possible.

  • Reason from first principles. Challenge every assumption. Zero analogy thinking, no egos, the best idea wins.

  • Love of the game. The frontier of AI is the most interesting problem of our time. We put in long hours at high intensity to push the frontier forward.

  • Build something that actually matters. If you're going to spend your time, spend it on something that matters to the world.

The Security Team

Examples of key problems the team is working on

  • You're securing the frontier of AI. The model weights training on our infrastructure are the most valuable and most targeted artifacts in technology, and we're standing up the compute to hold them faster than anyone ever has. A breach isn't a leak, it's the frontier walking out the door.

  • Build the entire security program from scratch. Most leaders inherit someone else's system and spend a career patching it. Here you own it end to end, bare metal to boardroom, as we scale across continents.

  • The industry's playbook was written for one building at a time. Vendor-managed appliances, manual process, and standards that assume a security team walks the floor. None of that survives contact with what we're building, so we build what should exist rather than buying what does.

  • Your threat surface is measured in gigawatts. The customers running on our infrastructure are building the most consequential technology in human history, and being responsible for the physical and logical security of that work makes everything else feel small.

Role Scope
  • Keep the systems online. Keep the campus's cameras, readers, door controllers, intercoms, and the head-end servers, storage and switches behind them online and reporting. Find the root cause of each failure before replacing hardware.

  • Repair on-site infrastructure. Troubleshoot and repair cable runs, failed drives, power supplies, DIMMs, NICs and optics, degraded RAID sets, and hosts that fail to boot. Keep the as-builts and device inventory current.

  • Accept new builds. Accept new data centers and expansions from the delivery team: walk down their work and the integrator's against the acceptance criteria before it enters support. Help with commissioning when the schedule requires it.

  • Work the remediation queue. Work the on-site remediation queue to the response targets in the support agreement: device swaps, firmware updates, resets, and the service requests that used to be integrator truck rolls. Escort and verify outside technicians when they are needed.

  • Keep site hardware working. Keep the hardware the guard force, GSOC and site operations use working: badge printers, visitor kiosks, turnstiles and vehicle gates.

What We’re Looking For

The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don’t fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.

  • You have maintained security devices at data center scale: cameras, readers, controllers and intercoms.

  • You terminate, test and certify copper and fiber cabling, and your labels, as-builts and inventory match what is installed.

  • You have worked hands‑on in a live data center or another critical facility, fix local issues on your own, and know which changes to flag before making them.

  • You read drawings and punch lists, can tell finished integrator work from unfinished, and hold contractors to the spec.

  • You troubleshoot from the device up through the switch: PoE, link, port and VLAN config, DHCP.

  • You administer Linux and Windows hosts: imaging, patching, drive replacement, and recovering a host after a failed reboot.

  • You have taken over work from an integrator, including documenting what they did not.

  • Bonus: Enterprise video management and access control platforms. IP camera and access controller hardware. Network fundamentals for device fleets (PoE budgets, VLANs, 802.1X). Server and storage hardware and Linux container basics. Manufacturer and BICSI certifications.

Physical Requirements
  • Work in non-climate-controlled environments, including active construction areas, data halls, electrical and mechanical rooms, and outdoor spaces. Temperatures can be high or low, and conditions can be humid, loud or dusty.

  • Lift, carry, push and pull up to 40 pounds on your own.

  • Sit, stand, walk, kneel, bend and crouch for long periods, including full shifts on your feet.

  • Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves and hearing protection, and follow site safety rules.

  • Climb stairs and ladders, and move around equipment, cable trays and uneven surfaces.

We are committed to pay equity and transparency.
