Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a dependable Security Systems Installer to join our team. You will install and service access control, IP video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems in commercial environments, wiring devices, and terminating low voltage cabling.

You’ll read blueprints, map wiring, and perform testing, commissioning, and documentation. You should have 1–3 years of relevant experience, read technical drawings, and be able to travel locally.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 to 3 years of experience installing low voltage security systems.
• Familiarity with Lenel, CCURE, Feenics, Salto, Avigilon, or Verkada.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience with device termination and system programming.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and working on your feet throughout the day.
• Willingness to travel locally and occasionally overnight.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Mount and wire devices including card readers, door contacts, electric strikes, maglocks, cameras, and motion detectors.
• Pull, terminate, and label low voltage cabling (Cat5e/6, coax, shielded cable).
• Program and configure field devices and system controllers.
• Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and wiring schematics.
• Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
• Maintain accurate documentation including as-built drawings, device lists, and installation reports.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and customers to ensure successful project execution.
• Adhere to company safety policies and industry best practices.
