TEKsystems is seeking a Security Systems Installer in Charleston, SC for a contract-to-hire role. You will install, support, and maintain commercial security systems including CCTV, access control, and low-voltage wiring on commercial sites.

Responsibilities include cable routing, camera and device installation, readings of drawings, and safety compliance. Overtime is available; growing opportunities exist within TEKsystems and client projects across the Carolinas.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of low-voltage cabling, structured cabling, or security installation experience.
• Hands-on experience with cameras, access control, or related security devices.
• Ability to read basic construction drawings and device layouts.
• Ability to safely work on ladders and lifts.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Reliable transportation and strong attendance.

Responsibilities

• Pull, route, dress, and terminate low-voltage cabling.
• Install cameras and security devices and wire access control equipment.
• Read construction drawings and device layouts; support project schedules while maintaining safety and quality.
• Troubleshoot security and low-voltage systems; work independently or in a team.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll install, support, and maintain commercial security systems, including:

• IP Cameras & CCTV Systems
• Access Control Systems
• Card & Badge Readers
• Door Contacts & Sensors
• Magnetic Locks (Mag Locks)
• Electric Strikes
• Push-to-Exit Devices
• Low-Voltage Cabling Infrastructure

Daily responsibilities include:

• Pulling, routing, dressing, and terminating low-voltage cabling
• Installing cameras and security devices
• Wiring access control equipment and door hardware
• Reading construction drawings and device layouts
• Troubleshooting security and low-voltage systems
• Supporting project schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards
• Working independently and as part of a team

What We're Looking For

Required

• 1+ year of low-voltage, structured cabling, or security installation experience
• Experience pulling, routing, dressing, and terminating low-voltage cabling
• Hands‑on experience with cameras, access control systems, or related security devices
• Ability to read basic construction drawings and device layouts
• Ability to safely work on ladders and lifts
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to use hand and power tools
• Reliable transportation and strong attendance
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience working in commercial construction environments

Preferred

• CCTV and IP camera installation experience
• Experience with card readers, badge readers, mag locks, electric strikes, and door hardware
• OSHA Certification
• BICSI Certification
• Advanced troubleshooting experience

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charleston, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
