Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in MIS required.
• Two years experience in information systems security domain with mobile/device security, endpoint protection, wireless protection, vulnerability management, incident response and mitigation, threat research and cyber intelligence analysis or other cyber security domain.
• Must have a current CompTIA Security+ Certification or equivalent within 6 months of placement.

Responsibilities

• Research and investigate potential impact of new threats and exploits; conduct log analysis and network forensics.
• Support security technologies and processes for scanning, testing, monitoring, and reporting.
• Assist in security projects to improve detection and response capabilities.
• Develop alerting and detection strategies for unusual behavior.
• Develop defensive techniques to recognize changes in adversary techniques and tactics.
• Conduct network security scans and penetration tests to identify weaknesses.
• Participate in in-depth technical investigations to understand breach causes and damage.
• Support risk assessments on systems to ensure compliance with security standards and operational requirements.
• Support security tools and infrastructure maintained by Parkland Information Security Organization (e.g., web filtering, IDS/IPS, SIEM, antispam/antivirus, DLP, VPN, firewalls).
• Maintain knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, and guidelines affecting Parkland; contribute to effective security controls.
