Job summary

M.C. Dean seeks an Engineer 2 in Charleston, SC, to join the Security and Electronic Systems (SES) team.

You will design, integrate, operate and maintain electronic security services for federal, local, and commercial clients, including intrusion detection, access control, biometric auth, and video systems. The role requires a BS in a related field, 2+ years of experience, and the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 2+ years of experience.
• Must obtain a Security+ within 6 months.
• Ability to obtain SECRET clearance is required.
• U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for access to classified information.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Maintain system documentation and maintenance records; generate weekly/monthly status reports.
• Stay current on industry trends and products; 4–6 hours weekly for professional development.
• Perform staging and setup for project support and self-instruction.
• Install and configure networks based on IDP to meet customer needs.
• Research equipment from various manufacturers to resolve issues.
• Collaborate with Design Dept to fix design problems during cycles.
• Suggest process improvements and cost savings to aid implementations.
• Provide system support for large-scale HPC centers; monitor usage against goals.
