Tetra is hiring an Installation and Service Technician in Austin, TX to deploy multifamily access control and IP camera solutions. You will install, configure, and service complex systems, document progress, and coordinate with project teams in a hybrid role with local travel.

The role requires 3+ years in multifamily or commercial low-voltage security, a valid Texas driver’s license, and knowledge of networking fundamentals. Training and benefits are included.

Responsibilities

• Interpret wiring diagrams and installation docs to deploy accurately.

Job Overview

• Company: Tetra
• Salary/Pay Rate: $22 to $30 per hour (based on experience)
• Location: Austin, Texas (Hybrid / 20% Travel Required within the local area.)

How You Will Make An Impact

• Install, configure, and service complex access control systems including card readers, door hardware, and system controllers.
• Terminate, route, and troubleshoot low-voltage wiring for networked surveillance systems and security infrastructure.
• Diagnose technical hardware failures, wiring faults, and device communication performance issues in the field.
• Keep detailed documentation regarding customer contact and progress on various projects.
• Interpret architectural wiring diagrams, blueprints, and specific technical installation documentation to execute deployments accurately.
• Coordinate daily with project managers, field technicians, and multifamily property managers to complete scheduled service calls.
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation of completed on-site installations, infrastructure repairs, and preventative maintenance activities.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Proven hands-on experience with low-voltage wiring practices and structural cabling installations.
• Solid technical understanding of access control systems and IP-based camera technology networks.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate and work collaboratively within a dedicated, team-oriented environment.
• Valid driver's license with a consistently clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in multifamily or commercial low-voltage security environments.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Working knowledge of core networking fundamentals, including device connectivity and IP addressing.
• Manufacturer low-voltage or security industry technical certifications.
