Job summary

Jushi Holdings Inc. in Manassas, VA is seeking a Safety/Security Supervisor to oversee day-to-day security operations and protect cannabis products, personnel, and property.

You will lead a team of security officers, enforce protocols, and collaborate with management to address security issues and support audits. The role requires 3-5 years in security with at least 1 year in supervision; knowledge of cannabis security regulations is preferred, and the position is onsite with full-time

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of security officers with staffing, training, and performance management.
• Schedule shifts for 24/7 facility coverage.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide guidance to team members.
• Ensure security protocols and regulations are followed.
• Monitor CCTV, alarms, and access control to detect and prevent unauthorized activity.
• Conduct regular physical security checks of grow rooms, processing areas, storage, and perimeter.
• Ensure safety of customers and employees at retail locations.
• Monitor and maintain security equipment at all locations.
• Maintain security logs, incident reports, and documentation; participate in audits.
• Act as primary contact for emergency security situations and coordinate response efforts.
• Train security staff in emergency procedures.
• Collaborate with Director of Operations and management to address vulnerabilities and report improvements.
• Assist investigations related to theft, fraud, or other violations of security protocols.

This position is responsible for managing a team of security personnel, enforcing security protocols, and ensuring compliance with state and local regulations related to cannabis security. The Safety/Security Supervisor will work closely with management to address any security issues, maintain a secure environment, and assist with audits and investigations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Team Supervision:
• Lead and supervise a team of security officers, ensuring proper staffing, training, and performance management.
• Schedule and assign shifts for security personnel to ensure 24/7 coverage of the facility.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback and guidance to team members.
• Security Operations:
• Ensure the implementation and adherence to security protocols, procedures, and regulations in the Jushi facilities.
• Monitor surveillance systems (CCTV, alarms, access control) to detect and prevent unauthorized activity.
• Conduct regular physical security checks of all areas, including the grow rooms, processing areas, storage, and external perimeter.
• Ensure the safety and security of customers and employees, at the retail dispensary locations.
• Monitor and maintenance security equipment at all Jushi locations
• Compliance and Recordkeeping:
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal cannabis security regulations.
• Maintain accurate security logs, incident reports, and other documentation related to security incidents.
• Participate in regular audits and inspections to ensure facility security measures are up to code.
• Emergency Response:
• Act as the primary point of contact for emergency security situations and coordinate response efforts as needed.
• Train security personnel in emergency procedures, including evacuation, lockdown, and response to breaches or intrusions.
• Training & Development:
• Conduct training sessions for security staff on security protocols, cannabis regulations, and the use of security equipment.
• Ensure that all security staff remain up to date with state and local cannabis security requirements.
• Collaboration & Reporting:
• Work closely with the Director of Operations and other facility management to identify and address security vulnerabilities.
• Provide regular reports on security issues, incidents, and operational improvements.
• Assist in investigations related to theft, fraud, or other violations of security protocols.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in criminal justice, security management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in security, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Prior experience in the cannabis industry or in a highly regulated industry (such as pharmaceuticals, alcohol, etc.) is a plus.
• Knowledge of cannabis security regulations and best practices is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure in emergency situations.
• Must pass background checks and meet local and state regulatory requirements for working in the cannabis industry.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to remain alert and focused for long shifts, including overnight hours if needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• This position may require rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• The work environment may involve exposure to the growing and processing areas of the cannabis facility, including potential exposure to plants and equipment.
• Occasional travel to other facilities or off‑site locations may be required for training or other operational needs.
