Job summary

Verano Holdings Corp. is seeking a Security Specialist (Retail) for the Lombard, IL location to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for patients and staff.

You will monitor cameras, verify patient IDs, patrol the facility, and support store leadership with safety and compliance tasks. Responsibilities include responding to incidents, assisting with cash handling, and ensuring adherence to state cannabis regulations and company policies in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of security/protection experience.
• Nightclub, Bar, Jewelry Store, or Event Management protection experience preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age and comply with all local, state, and company regulations.
• Criminal background check and appropriate state badging as directed by state ordinances.
• Learn and understand Federal, State, and local laws relating to the cannabis industry and safety regulations.

Job Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Regularly interact with employees and patients to maintain a comfortable and safe environment.
• Check and verify all patient ID’s prior to admitting them onto the dispensary floor.
• Monitor cash pick-ups.
• Provide exemplary customer service to all patients and fellow employees.
• Monitor security video cameras and security systems.
• Carry out regular patrols around and inside the property.
• Perform lockup and unlock duties where needed.
• Operate under the regulatory requirements set forth by the State.
• Assist in product delivery as needed.
• Provide operational retail support to leadership including, but not limited to patient information audits, batch record data uploads, and other items as needed to ensure regular compliance in preparation of location audits.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of previous security/protection experience required
• High level Nightclub, Bar, Jewelry Store, or Event Management Protection experience preferred
• Must be 21 years of age and comply with all local, state, and company regulations
• Required to undergo a criminal background check and appropriate state badging (as directed by state ordinances)
• Passionate about security and safety
• Ability to use office equipment (computers and printers) and their included software i.e. Word, Excel, email, etc.
• Learn and understand Federal, State, and local laws relating to the cannabis industry and safety regulations
