Job summary

Military, Veterans and Diverse Job Seekers is seeking a Security Specialist to stand post or patrol a defined zone on foot, enforcing client policies and investigating incidents to maintain a safe work environment.

The role reports to the Security Supervisor and requires ensuring ID checks, incident reporting, and coordination with police or emergency responders as needed. A high school diploma and state guard certification are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma (or GED) required or equivalent combination providing requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Must complete and maintain state Guard Certification as prescribed by state law, plus client certifications; fees are employee responsibility unless noted.
• Site-specific training within first 30 days based on client/assignment.
• Uniform attire and grooming standards must be maintained at all times in uniform.
• Strong customer service capability and professional demeanor.
• Must climb stairs, sit and/or stand for long periods; basic computer and report writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to client, associates and facilities personnel.
• Patrol assigned post on foot to maintain visibility and observe activity.
• Investigate and report maintenance and safety conditions endangering client or public safety; provide backup as needed.
• Keep daily administrative documentation concise; maintain equipment.
• Respond to supervisor or client requests; complete assignments; submit reports.
• Investigate security incidents, interview witnesses, gather evidence, and follow up with management.
• Ensure all employees, suppliers, and visitors have proper company ID.
• Maintain safe and professional work environment; assist authorities during incidents.
• Other related duties as required.
