Job summary

AMEWAS is seeking a Security Specialist (IBST)-Junior to support the IBST Department within the DAiTA Group. The role involves implementing DoD security requirements, managing PARs and clearances, and interfacing with customer counterparts on sensitive programs.

The position is on-site at Patuxent River, MD, with strict security prerequisites and readiness to work in secured environments. Candidates must obtain required clearances and comply with NISPOM and ICD-705 guidelines.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of relevant work experience.
• 1 year in an administrative assistant or security operations support role.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Willingness to work in a secured environment.
• Willingness to obtain certifications and clearances as required.
• Current clearance on onboarding: Top Secret.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance eligibility as required.

Responsibilities

• Meet requirements of DoD 5205.07 volumes 1-4 for SAPs within CSO.
• Process and track PARs, nominations, foreign travel, briefings and debriefings.
• Interface with customer counterparts in a tactful, professional manner.
• Create procedures for secure and successful execution of programs.
• Administer and control classified material per NISPOM.
• Plan and supervise secure facilities accreditation per ICD-705.

The Position

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Security Specialist (IBST)-Junior to support Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test & Evaluation. The salary range of this position is $64,100.00 - $78,400.00 and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

Position Background

The Digital Analytics, Infrastructure, and Technology Advancement (DAiTA) Group is at the cutting edge of Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (AARDT&E). Our state-of-the-art laboratories are equipped to work seamlessly together, enabling comprehensive testing and evaluation of aircraft and weapons systems across the Department of Defense. What sets the DAiTA Group apart is our exceptional ability to mitigate program risks by crafting intricate battlespace environments where cutting-edge concepts, advanced hardware, and skilled warfighters can dive into the missions of both today and the future. The Integrated Battlespace Simulation and Test (IBST) Department is at the heart of this innovative ecosystem. This team is the driving force behind the research, development, management, design, documentation, fabrication, installation, integration, testing, evaluation, operation, and maintenance of the Air Combat Environment Test Facility (ACETEF) and other DAiTA AARDT&E capabilities, laboratories, and facilities. A typical day as a Security Specialist (IBST)-Junior may include

• Learns how to meet the requirements of DoD 5205.07 volumes 1-4 for one or more Special Access Programs (SAP) within the Combined Security Office (CSO)
• Initiates, processes, and tracks personnel security actions such as Personnel Access Requests (PARs), nominations for employees to special programs, and foreign travel and contact reports, briefings, and debriefings
• Interfaces with customer counterparts in a tactful, diplomatic, and professional manner
• Creates needed procedures for the secure and successful execution of assigned program(s)
• Administers and controls classified material following the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)
• Plans and supervises the building and accreditation of secure facilities following Intelligence Community Directive 705

Must-haves

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of relevant work experience
• 1 year of experience in an administrative assistant or security operations support role
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Willingness to work in a Secured environment
• Willingness to obtain certifications and clearances as required
• Minimum clearance required to apply (candidates who do not currently hold the required clearance will not be considered): N/A
• Current clearance required upon onboarding: Top Secret
• Additional Accesses: The ability to obtain and maintain the DoD security clearance eligibility and/or additional security access requirements necessary to perform the duties of the position, as required by the contract

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of JADE, DISS, and SAP security requirements
• Experience working in a security environment as a Federal or contracted employee
• Experience working in a secured environment
• Thorough knowledge and demonstrated application of the U.S. Government security standards of 32 Code of Federal Regulation Part 117, NISPOM, Intelligence Community Directives, Security Executive Agent Directives, and the DoD SAP Security Manual 5205.07 (Volumes 1- 4)
• Extensive understanding and previous application of the ICD-705 Technical Specifications, including, but not limited to, intrusion detection systems, access control devices, TEMPEST requirements, and drawings/specifications
• Understanding of advanced security principles and government special security regulations

Physical Environment And Working Conditions

The physical environment for this position requires the employee in a chamber, on site versus in an office. The physical environment may require the employee to work in an office at times, looking at a computer for part of the day. The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site or near the work site. On rare occasions, overnight travel may be required. The employee is required to stand, walk and/or move throughout the workday, often bending over and lifting items up to approximately 50 lbs.
