Job summary

United Launch Alliance (ULA) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station is seeking a Security Specialist to support the ULA security program during launch operations. You will handle government and customer security requirements, investigations, incident response, and COMSEC/OPSEC responsibilities.

The role requires a DoD TS/SCI clearance eligibility, a minimum of 4 years of related experience, and strong written/verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related work experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI security clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with government and company regulations and policies through assessment reviews, self-inspections, administrative inquiries, physical security, and communications security activities.
  • Supports the threat management team and conducts security investigations.
  • Serves as a primary security interface to launch customers and mission integration team during prelaunch, launch, and postlaunch activities.
  • Interprets and implements customer-specific security requirements and coordinates compliance across operations, mission partners, and facilities.
  • Supports mission security requirements during launch campaigns, including badging, incident response, and secure area control.
  • Provides day-to-day oversight of Contract Security Officer contractual requirements, to include staffing, incident reporting, and contract billing.
  • Maintains relationships with base security and other government agencies.
  • Supports information protection through OPSEC program, education, and physical controls.
  • Supports COMSEC responsibilities including inventory, distribution, and destruction.

Job Overview & Responsibilities

As a Security Specialist at ULA’s Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, this individual will support launch operations for the ULA security program. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensures compliance with government and company regulations and policies through assessment reviews, self-inspections, administrative inquiries, physical security, and communications security activities.
  • Supports the threat management team and conducts security investigations
  • Serves as a primary security interface to launch customers and mission integration team during prelaunch, launch, and postlaunch activities.
  • Interprets and implements customerspecific security requirements and coordinates compliance across operations, mission partners, and facilities.
  • Supports mission security requirements during launch campaigns, including badging, incident response, and secure area control.
  • Provides daytoday oversight of Contract Security Officer contractual requirements, to include ensuring adequate staffing, incident reporting, and contract billing.
  • Maintains relationships with base security and other government agencies.
  • Supports information protection from unauthorized disclosures through development, implementation, and administration of the Operations Security (OPSEC) Program, Security Education & Awareness, procedures, and physical controls.
  • Supports Site Security Lead with communications security (COMSEC) responsibilities, including inventory, distribution, and destruction in compliance with government requirements.
  • Supports Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) and Special Access Program Facility (SAPF) physical security compliance, including testing, maintenance, anomaly investigations, and customer inspections.
  • Support reviews of customer security documentation (SSPs, PPSs, DD254s, ICD705 annexes) and ensures alignment with ULA processes and launch site constraints.
  • Supports the CCSFS ULA Crisis Management and Anti-Terrorism Programs, including emergency drill coordination, tabletop reviews, command media updates, and masscommunication system testing.
  • Review and update Command Media.
  • Provides support to other ULA sites on a regular basis, with approximately 10% travel.
Required Education

Minimum of 4 years of related work experience

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related work experience required.
    • An additional 4 years of directly related exempt work experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
  • Familiarity with security and emergency protocols, accesscontrol systems, and CCTV systems.
  • Demonstrates outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of standard office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Ability to represent company interests with minimal supervision and support a teamoriented work environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI security clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with 32 CFR Part 117, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), ICD705 and DoD Manual 5205.07 Special Access Program Security Manual.
  • Experience supporting highpaced operational environments.
  • Experience with NRO/USSF security requirements.
  • Experience conducting classified customer operations or closedarea processing.
