Job summary

The Department of the Air Force Headquarters is seeking a Security Specialist to support information, industrial, personnel, and physical security programs for the 694th ISR Group. The role involves implementing security policies, procedures, and training to safeguard classified and sensitive information in a DoD environment.

The position is eligible for telework and requires a Security Clearance of Sensitive Compartmented Information.

• Implements and administers the Information Security Program for the organization. Implements DoD, HQ USAF, and MAJCOM/FOA policies and develops local procedures for the classification and protection of classified national defense and other sensitive information originated or controlled by the organization's activities. Administers the Industrial Security Program for the organization.
• Reviews solicitation and contract documents to ensure they include the appropriate security clauses and language. Administers the Personnel Security Program for the organization. Establishes local procedures for processing requests for security clearances for military and civilian personnel. Implements and administers the Physical Security Program. Provides program management for the Physical Security Program.
• Assists managers in implementing security education and motivation programs. Advises managers of security training requirements, changes in security procedures, publication of security directives, and enhancements designed to increase security awareness.

Requirements & Education

IF USING EDUCATION TO QUALIFY: If position has a positive degree requirement or education forms the basis for qualifications, you MUST submit transcripts with the application. An accrediting institution recognized by the U.S.

Department of Education must accredit education. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS. This position is in the Excepted Service.
