Job summary

NAVAL INTELLIGENCE ACTIVITY, located at NAVAL STATION COMPLEX, San Diego, CA, seeks a GG-12 Security Specialist to provide security guidance, services, and technical advice across SCI/SCIF programs. The role guards highly sensitive information and ensures compliance under the Navy SSO cognizance.

Candidates should demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at the GG/GS-11 level in security disciplines, audits, and policy application within federal or equivalent sectors.

Job description

You will serve as a GG-12 Security Specialist responsible for providing the full spectrum of security guidance, services, and technical advice in a wide range of security functional areas. You will maintain the integrity and protection of highly sensitive information programs under the security cognizance of the Command/Special Security Officer (SSO) Navy. This position is located at NAVAL INTELLIGENCE ACTIVITY, Naval Station Complex, San Diego, California.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-11 grade level in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following such as:

1. Conduct on-site Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) inspections and train stakeholders on applicable SCIF directives and guidelines to ensure compliance;
2. Manage Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) physical security requirements for an organization, assess personnel adherence to these requirements, and determine if corrective action is needed;
3. Apply proficiency in multiple Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security disciplines to perform oversight reviews and audits of information security programs and identify deficiencies in security protocols;
4. Analyze and apply comprehensive Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security policies and procedures to ensure the protection of classified and sensitive information from unauthorized disclosure
5. Manage Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) equities and represent the organization to internal and external customers and stakeholders at varying levels.
