Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Security Specialist to maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The role partners with our healthcare team to protect everyone in the facility and respond to emergencies.

You will monitor the premises, control access, conduct security checks, train staff, and document incidents while staying current on best practices in security.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate/bachelor's in criminal justice or related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of security protocols and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stay calm and decide quickly in emergencies.
• Detail-oriented with strong observation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and patrol the premises to prevent and detect any security threats
• Respond to alarms and emergencies, including medical emergencies, and take appropriate action
• Conduct regular security checks and inspections to identify potential hazards
• Monitor and control access to the facility, including screening visitors and issuing visitor passes
• Maintain accurate records of security incidents and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement emergency procedures
• Train staff on security protocols and procedures
• Conduct investigations into security incidents and provide recommendations for improvement
• Stay up-to-date on security trends and implement best practices to ensure the safety of our facility
• Perform other security-related duties as assigned by management
