Sharp Decisions is seeking an experienced professional in Charlotte, NC for a Hybrid, full-time role focused on Financial Services settlements. The position offers a salary range of $75,000 to $90,000 and requires 5+ years in the sector with expertise in security settlements and related platforms.

Responsibilities include daily settlement operations, issue investigation, and collaboration with Treasury/Cash Ops, with emphasis on risk mitigation, controls, and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Financial Services.
• 2+ years of experience working in Security Settlements.
• Comfort with FED, DTC, and/or Euroclear settlement platforms.
• BA/BS degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely execution of day-to-day settlement activities.
• Investigate settlement-related issues such as unrecognized/unmatched trades and payment disputes.
• Fail Management - daily affirmation of fails and focus on clearing them as quickly as possible.
• Work with Treasury and Cash Operations teams to settle margin requirements by deadline.
• Fulfill Triparty shells at end of each night and ensure they are properly collateralized until they roll off.
• Proactive management and timely escalation of emerging risks and issues.
• Preparation of metrics and other reports as required.
• Proactively mitigate risk by reviewing and strengthening procedures and identifying opportunities for process enhancement.
• Partner with the New York Securities Operations team to ensure tight controls, regulatory compliance, and continuous product and process education.
• Assist with projects and initiatives related to enhancing current processes and controls, including planning and implementation.
