Job summary

Affinia Healthcare in Missouri seeks a Security Officer to ensure daily duties are performed and to assist with training of current and new security personnel according to Security Department SOPs and hospital policies.

The role requires extensive experience in physical security, familiarity with access control, CCTV, alarms, and two-way radios, plus strong communication and organizational skills. A valid driver's license is needed for transportation as required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; associates degree or higher preferred.
• Five years of physical security experience.
• Three years' experience in a medical/health center.
• Three years' experience operating security systems (access control, alarms, CCTV, CAD, fire alarms, scheduling software, two-way radios).
• Three years of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Protects and addresses co-workers, clients, and visitors with dignity, confidentiality, and respect.
• Monitors closed-circuit camera, fire/life/safety, and two-way radio systems and ensures operation.
• Assists with training of security staff.
• Reviews reports, investigates causation, and provides recommendations.
• Receives, reviews and forwards complaints to the security manager.
• Ensures staff are on assigned posts and prepared for duty.
• Responds with sensitivity and tact to staff, clients, and visitors.
• Monitors staff to ensure identification badges are worn.
• Completely secures location by checking doors, lights, and grounds daily.
• Provides assistance to clients, employees, and visitors.
• Assists police with investigations, as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: Ensure the daily duties of the Security Officers are conducted. Assist with the training of existing and newly hired security personnel, related to the systems and their duties as set forth by the Security Department Standard Operating procedures and the policies of Affinia Healthcare.

Position Qualification Requirements

Education: High School diploma required. Associates degree or higher preferred.

Experience: Requires five (5) years of physical security experience. Requires three (3) years' experience working in a medical/health center. Requires three (3) years' experience operating safety and security related systems, such as access control, burglar alarms, closed circuit camera systems, computer aided dispatch, fire alarms, scheduling software and two-way radio operation. Three (3) years supervisory experience preferred. A combination of the above requirements may be considered, when reviewing applicant's overall qualifications for the position.

Transportation Requirement: Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile with insurance coverage as required by the State of Missouri

Required:

• Must possess current St. Louis Metropolitan Security License.
• Must possess St. Louis County Police Department Pepper Spray (OC) certification.
• Must possess St. Louis County Police Department Handcuffing certification.
• Must possess AED and CPR certification.

Preferred: St. Louis County Police Department Specialized Security Force Training certification.

Essential Functions

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
