Job summary

Convergint Technologies, LLC is seeking a motivated Security Service Technician to service and support customers by responding to service calls, conducting maintenance, and completing small projects. You will work as part of a dynamic team that values culture, integrity and growth.

You will diagnose and repair security and fire alarm systems, install projects as needed, and produce detailed service reports for accurate invoicing and cost tracking.

Qualifications

• Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience.
• Minimum Experience: 5-7 years servicing, integrating, and programming access control systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond to routine and some non-routine customer service calls, scheduled maintenance calls, and emergency and after-hours service calls on a timely basis; diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, replace defective parts and debug systems for routine problems; install projects as necessary.
• Complete accurate and detailed service reports for customer and Convergint in a timely manner to allow for accurate invoicing and job cost tracking.
• Use solid troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.

What You'll Need

• Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
• Advanced technical skills and experience related to fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
• Advanced programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
• Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple service needs simultaneously.
• Highly proficient computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• To be a self-starter and work well with minimal supervision.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Minimal overnight travel may be required.

Requirements:

Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience: 5-7 years servicing, integrating, and programming access control systems

Preferred Experience: (but not required):

• Relevant field service
• CCTV experience: Milestone / Genetec
• Access Control experience: AMAG / Lenel / Genetec / Software House - CCURE / S2
• Intrusion experience: DMP / Bosch

The expected compensation range for this position is between $37.00 - $48.00 per hour, depending on experience.
