Convergint is seeking a Security Service Technician to join a dynamic team focused on protecting lives and assets. The role emphasizes proactive service, problem solving, and collaboration within a culture that values growth and safety.

You will diagnose and repair electronic security and building automation systems, perform preventative maintenance, and complete detailed service reports. This full-time position involves on-site work and potential after-hours calls with a strong emphasis on

Qualifications

• High School/GED or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years relevant experience in electronic, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation.
• Ability to develop basic programming skills and troubleshoot problems.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver results with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Respond to routine and non-routine service calls; diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, replace defective parts and debug systems.
• Install projects and perform maintenance as necessary.
• Troubleshoot and fix malfunctioning equipment or software.
• Complete accurate and detailed service reports for invoicing and cost tracking.
• Collaborate with team to improve operations of the Technology Center.

May install, configure, and support a variety of network systems and equipment for assigned projects.Executes all service calls in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations as well as company health and safety policies and procedures. Uses solid troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.Communicates with and work with the other team members consistently to improve overall operations of the Convergint Technology Center, and company.Responsible for primarily performing preventative maintenance for installed systems that are typically less complex.Work closely with other specialists to cross-train on servicing existing customers by responding to service calls, carrying out Customer Support Programs and small projects business.Scope of work includes technical assistance, systems checkout of new and existing installations, troubleshooting and maintenance and repair routines associated with installed Security and the installation of small or less complex projects.Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.What You’ll NeedDeveloping exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.Developing technical skills and experience related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.Ability to develop basic programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).Proficient computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).Company BenefitsConvergint fosters a supportive, accessible, and inclusive environment in which all individuals are able to realize their maximum potential within the company.
