Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Commercial Service Technician to troubleshoot and service security systems, including burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV, and Card Access. The ideal candidate will readjust, repair, or replace faulty equipment, coordinate with authorities, and provide quotes to support recommended solutions.

You will work from a remote-enabled setup, offering high-quality service to ensure client facilities run efficiently and securely.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3–4 years’ experience installing and inspecting/repairing Tyco Integrated Security or comparable product line.
• Experience with Card Access/CCTV/IP cameras.
• HIRSCH Certificate.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Electrical/Electronic background.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and service commercial security systems.
• Repair or replace burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV, Card Access systems and other security equipment.
• Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments or other agencies.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and upsell where appropriate.
• Operate independently from a remote location and deliver timely service.

What you will do

A Johnson Controls Service Technician is a troubleshooter and service expert. You will alleviate concerns the customer may have regarding a security system. You will advise customers and the customer care center of the status of systems and processes inspections. You will repair or replace burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV systems, Card Access systems and other security equipment. This Technician will be set up with all of the tools and equipment needed to work independently from a remote location. Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service related items. As a trusted advisor to our customers you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service.

How you will do it

As a Commercial Service Technician you will locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring; readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation; prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs. You will also coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies. Service Technicians will be responsible for the service and repair Commercial security/Fire Alarm/CCTV/Card Access systems. Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities.

What we look for

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3-4 years’ experience installing and inspecting/repairing Tyco Integrated Security or comparable product line.
• Experience with Card Access/CCTV/IP cameras
• HIRSCH Certificate
• Excellent communication skills.
• Electrical/Electronic background.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred

• Fire alarm experience preferred.
• Some college preferred.
• NICET II or greater preferred.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $28-38 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
