Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of security and safety fields and ability to apply developments.
  • Specialized knowledge of law enforcement and safety principles (Homeland Security laws, OSHA, FEMA).
  • Ability to build relationships across staff and departments.
  • Willingness to travel with reasonable accommodations.
  • Ability to protect self and others; use of basic self-defense if needed.
  • Ability to delegate, set direction and manage workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procedures for security of buildings and grounds.
  • Advise on rules and regulations for parking and traffic including signage.
  • Develop short and long-range training programs for security staff.
  • Report status of security and safety to facility management.
  • Review and update safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide orientations and ongoing education to security staff.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement at various levels to ensure site security.
  • Recruit, onboard and train security personnel; set performance expectations.
