Job summary

Westgate Resorts is seeking a Security Safety Manager to support the Director of Security and oversee all resort safety and security operations. You will develop and enforce security policies to protect guests, team members, assets, and property.

The role requires risk assessment, reporting, and collaboration with Risk Management, Safety, and Security teams. Responsibilities include hiring, program management, record keeping, training coordination, and liaison with OSHA and government health

Qualifications

  • Must be available to work overnight shifts.
  • Experience briefing senior management staff.
  • Familiarity with data and physical security vulnerability prevention.
  • Familiarity with investigative process and chain of custody requirements.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Hire and screen team members.
  • Implement and manage government mandated safety and security programs (e.g., training).
  • Organize and manage all department records.
  • Establish daily procedures for Safety & Security personnel.
  • Conduct routine safety and security inspections and administer an ongoing safety program.
  • Create policies and procedures for a risk management program.
  • Direct and/or conduct internal investigations and liaise with Law Enforcement.”
  • Act as a liaison to OSHA and government health/safety organizations.
  • Coordinate health, safety and security training programs with risk management.
  • Maintain membership in professional risk management organizations.
  • Manage interdepartmental Safety & Security programs and reorganize as needed.
  • Fulfill duties of subordinate managers in their absence.

Job Description

The Security Safety Manager supports the Director of Security and oversees all resort safety and security operations. This role develops and enforces security policies, procedures, and programs to protect guests, team members, company assets, and property. The position assesses security risks, implements mitigation strategies, and prepares reports and recommendations that support Westgate Resorts' Risk Management, Safety, and Security initiatives. You will demonstrate Westgate’s core values of Passion, Integrity, and Work Ethic in every interaction with guests and team members.

What You Will Do as a Security Safety Manager
  • Hiring and screening team members.
  • Implementation and management of government mandated safety and security programs (such as blood borne pathogen and hazardous communications training)
  • Organization and management of all department generated records.
  • Establish daily procedures and responsibilities for Safety & Security personnel.
  • Conduct routine safety and security inspections and administer an on-going safety inspection program.
  • Create policies and procedures as required for the maintenance of an aggressive, contemporary risk management program.
  • Direct and/or conduct internal criminal and civil investigations and act as a liaison to Law Enforcement and Emergency Services Personnel.
  • Act as a contact person and liaison to OSHA and/or any government health/safety organization.
  • Coordinate and/or instruct team member health, safety and security training programs in cooperation with the corporate division of risk management.
  • Maintain membership in professional organizations relevant to the risk management profession.
  • Manage any interdepartmental Safety & Security programs and revise and/or reorganize as necessary.
  • Fulfill the duties of any subordinate manager in their absence.
  • Act on behalf of the General Manager or any other representative of the corporation as directed.
  • Act as a task force coordinator for any event requiring esoteric or additional security services (such as dignitary protection or special events).
  • Act as facilitator and chairman of the Occupational Safety and Health Committee.
  • Be on call and available to respond to incidents 24 hour a day.
  • Respond to critical incidents and assume control of incident scenes.
  • Act as a media relations representative as directed by the General Manager.
  • Administer progressive disciplinary actions to subordinate team members as required under corporate policy.
