Job summary

Transportation Security Administration in Fort George G Meade seeks Supervisory Transportation Security Officers (STSO) to lead screening operations and supervise officers. You'll oversee passenger and baggage screening, assign work, coordinate rotations, and apply TSA procedures with sound judgment.

You will participate in operational briefings, coordinate with airport stakeholders, and respond to security incidents.

Qualifications

• Requires U.S. citizenship or national status.
• Specialized experience supervising transportation-security operations.
• At least six months of experience as a work leader, team leader, or supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Transportation Security Officers and Lead Transportation Security Officers.
• Oversee passenger, carry-on baggage, checked baggage, or cargo-screening operations.
• Assign work, establish priorities, and coordinate employee rotations and coverage.
• Make security-based decisions using TSA procedures, observation, and judgment.
• Review employee performance and provide coaching, instruction, and feedback.
• Approve leave and address routine employee or workplace concerns.
• Respond to security incidents, checkpoint disruptions, and emergencies.
