Job summary

Rockwell Automation in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Security Operations Lead and Assistant Facility Security Officer. This hybrid role supports industrial security governance, personnel clearance activities, and executive protection programs to safeguard people, facilities, and sensitive contracts.

You will partner with the Director of Industrial Security & Global Security Operations from our Milwaukee HQ, leading security projects and maintaining compliance across multi-site locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship).
• Able to travel approximately 10%.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Be an Assistant FSO for a non-possessing facility and administer the Industrial Security Program per NISPOM.
• Process and manage personnel security clearance activities, onboarding, and debriefings.
• Support secure contract execution by ensuring security requirements are implemented.
• Maintain industrial security documentation, training records, and DD254s for audits.
• Monitor government security requirements and propose process improvements.
• Support program administration, KPI tracking, and collaboration with teams and vendors.
• Lead security projects and crisis management initiatives as assigned.
• Support physical security systems strategy and project management across locations.

Job Description

The Security Operations Lead and Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) supports our physical security operations, executive protection program, and industrial security compliance. This role partners with the Director, Industrial Security & Global Security Operations to safeguard personnel, facilities, assets, and sensitive programs through security governance, operational execution, and continuous improvement.

Under the direction of the Director, Industrial Security & Global Security Operations you’ll work from our Milwaukee, WI Global HQ in a hybrid schedule.

Your Responsibilities:

Industrial Security & AFSO Responsibilities

• Be an Assistant FSO for a non-possessing facility, partnering with the FSO to administer our Industrial Security Program following NISPOM requirements.
• Process and manage personnel security clearance activities, including submissions, onboarding, and debriefings.
• Support classified contract execution by helping ensure applicable security requirements are implemented and maintained.
• Maintain required industrial security documentation, including training records, DD254s, and materials needed for DCSA reviews, self‑inspections, and internal audits.
• Monitor evolving government security requirements and benchmark with the industrial security community to recommend process improvements to strengthen and support a mature, compliant, and industry‑aligned industrial security program.

Global Security Program Support

• Support Global Security Program administration, including documentation, KPI tracking, provider coordination, benchmarking, and program improvement efforts relating to executive protection, crisis management, and threat assessment, among other aspects of the program.
• Participate in routine and ad hoc meetings with other teams, partners, and vendors to manage projects, identify program enhancements, and support modernization or automation opportunities.
• Lead different security projects, crisis management initiatives, and other Global Security program responsibilities as assigned.

Physical Security Systems

• Support enterprise physical security systems strategy, including access control, video management, benchmarking, administration, modernization, and enhancement initiatives.
• Partner with the Global Security Systems Lead and security systems personnel to identify and mitigate issues, track system health, maintain accurate inventory, and report operational metrics.
• Help with the design, implementation, and project management of physical security systems across company locations.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
• The ability to travel 10% of the time.
• A valid drivers license.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

• 3+ years of relevant government experience or 5+ years of security industry experience
• Active Top‑Secret eligibility or the ability to obtain post‑employment.
• Experience managing sensitive documentation and working within compliance‑driven deadlines
• Experience in government with a solid network of contacts.
• Working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM) and DCSA assessments.
• Experience managing physical security systems (e.g., access control, video management) at a multi‑site organization.
• Executive Protection experience or training.
