540 is seeking a Security Operations Engineer to support its partnership with Google and the Department of Defense. This role involves implementing cybersecurity controls across a complex cloud environment and ensuring systems are secure, compliant, and resilient. Candidates must have 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field, with strong knowledge in cloud security and DoD frameworks.

The position requires U.S. citizenship and may require onsite support in FL or VA, with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, or related roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (preferred).
• CompTIA Security+ certification required or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of security controls across cloud infrastructure.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with DoD security requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers to integrate security into system design.

Skills

5+ years of experience in cybersecurity

Familiarity with DoD security frameworks

Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

CompTIA Security+ certification

Education
