Job description

The Security Operations Engineer will join the Cloud Security team at Client, focusing on securing the organization’s SaaS application ecosystem using CrowdStrike Falcon Shield SSPM. This role is centered around onboarding SaaS applications, tuning detection rules, identifying misconfigurations, and partnering with business teams to drive remediation. The engineer will collaborate closely with technical and leadership stakeholders, maintain runbooks and KPIs, assist in incident triage, and promote security-by-design principles. This position may extend but is not eligible for conversion to permanent. Local candidates may follow a Tues/Wed in-office schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the integration and onboarding of new SaaS applications into CrowdStrike Falcon Shield.
• Perform rule tuning and configuration to improve alert accuracy and reduce false positives.
• Monitor SaaS application security posture and identify risks, misconfigurations, and vulnerabilities.
• Partner with business teams to drive remediation and provide technical guidance.
• Track and report remediation progress to technical and leadership stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain runbooks, policies, and operational procedures for SaaS security.
• Create and manage KPIs to measure security posture and remediation effectiveness.
• Assist in triaging potential security incidents related to SaaS applications.
• Promote security and privacy by design through collaboration with stakeholders.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in security operations or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience with SSPM solutions (CrowdStrike Falcon Shield preferred).
• Experience leading remediation efforts and reporting to diverse stakeholder groups.
• Strong understanding of SaaS security concepts and best practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong collaboration and cross-functional engagement abilities.
• Ability to implement security best practices across teams.
• Proven track record of completing projects and assignments.

Preferred Skills

• MS/MA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or 3 additional years of experience).
• Experience with scripting/automation for repetitive tasks.
• Consulting background (Big Four or Fortune 500).
• Telecom/cable industry experience.
• Experience with SaaS app integrations and security controls.

Education

Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
