The SOC Supervisor at Beowulf E&D in Barker, NY leads the Security Operations Center's daily operations, ensuring continuous monitoring, rapid incident response, and strict adherence to security policies in a 24/7 environment.

This role coordinates with cross-functional teams, escalates critical incidents, and maintains compliance while mentoring SOC staff to improve procedures and readiness. Schedule includes Saturday-Tuesday, 4:00pm–2:00am.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in security operations or SOC
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Strong knowledge of physical security systems (access control, CCTV, alarms)
• Genetec Security Center experience
• Ability to coordinate calmly during high-priority events
• Maintain professional, confidential, and compliant conduct

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily SOC operations to ensure continuous monitoring and effective incident response
• Manage access control, CCTV, alarms, and emergency notifications with timely handling
• Escalate critical incidents and coordinate with internal teams and external partners
• Lead real-time response to security incidents and life-safety events
• Document and report security incidents per policy
• Collaborate with Facilities, HR, IT, Legal, vendors, and law enforcement as required
• Mentor SOC operators and analysts, provide briefings and training
• Oversee health of security systems (access control, VMS, intrusion, mass notification)

At our Barker, New York facility, the Security Operations Center plays a central role in protecting people, facilities, and assets through continuous monitoring, rapid incident response, and disciplined communication.

We are seeking a Security Operations Center (SOC) Supervisor to provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight of the SOC. This role coordinates response to security events, serves as an escalation point for critical incidents, and helps ensure consistent adherence to security policies and procedures in a 24/7 environment.

Position Summary

The SOC Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and operational oversight of the

Security Operations Center. This role ensures continuous monitoring, rapid incident response, and

consistent adherence to security policies and procedures. The SOC Supervisor leads SOC personnel,

coordinates response to security events, and serves as an escalation point for incidents impacting

people, facilities, and assets.

Expected Schedule:

Saturday-Tuesday, 4:00pm - 2am

Key Responsibilities

As the SOC Supervisor, you will help lead the frontline security function for our mission-critical facility:

• Operational Oversight: Supervise daily SOC operations to support continuous monitoring coverage and effective incident response.
• Alarm & Event Monitoring: Ensure access control events, video surveillance alerts, intrusion alarms, and emergency notifications are handled accurately and promptly.
• Critical Incident Escalation: Serve as the primary escalation point for critical incidents and coordinate response with internal teams and external partners.
• Incident Leadership: Lead real-time response to access control violations, life safety events, workplace violence concerns, and emergency situations.
• Documentation & Investigation: Ensure security incidents are properly documented, investigated, and reported in accordance with policy.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with Physical Security, Facilities, HR, IT, Legal, vendors, and local law enforcement when required.
• Continuous Improvement: Conduct after-action reviews and recommend practical improvements to processes, procedures, and response readiness.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and coach SOC operators and analysts, provide shift briefings and training, and reinforce professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance.
• Systems & Technology: Oversee the daily use and operational health of access control, VMS, intrusion detection, mass notification, and incident management platforms.

What We Are Looking For

Core Requirements:

• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in security operations, a Security Operations Center, command center, or a related environment.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Driver's License: Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
• Security Systems Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of physical security systems, including access control, CCTV/video surveillance, and alarms.
• Genetec Experience: Hands-on experience with Genetec Security Center, including access control, video, alarms, or monitoring modules.
• Leadership & Judgment: Strong decision-making, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate calmly during high-priority events.
• Documentation & Confidentiality: Ability to produce clear incident records and maintain strict standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance.
• Physical Capability: Ability to sit for extended periods, occasionally stand or walk, use hands for controls and tools, maintain close and distance vision, and occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds.

Preferred (Plus, but not required)

• Prior supervisory or team lead experience in a SOC, command center, security operations, or other 24/7 operational environment.
• Experience coordinating with Facilities, HR, IT, Legal, emergency responders, vendors, or law enforcement during security incidents.
• Experience supporting security technology testing, system troubleshooting, procedural updates, or workflow improvements.
