Job summary

PacifiCorp is seeking a Security Monitoring Specialist to operate in a 24/7 Security Operations Center in Salt Lake City. You will monitor access control, intrusion detection, and video systems, triage alerts, and coordinate responses with internal and external partners.

Ideal candidates combine hands-on security system experience with strong communication and teamwork, ensuring compliant, audit-ready documentation and proactive threat awareness.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent, plus related experience (three years if no degree).
• Working knowledge of physical security principles including access control, video surveillance, and incident response.
• Familiarity with NERC CIP standards and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Monitor physical security systems (access control, intrusion detection, video) and respond to events in real time.
• Triage alarms by criticality and coordinate appropriate actions with teams and partners.
• Analyze data from badge activity, video feeds, and alarms to validate events and determine response.
