Job summary

SSC, Inc. is seeking a full-time Security Officer to monitor campuses and protect employees, students and visitors. The role involves patrolling, reporting, and responding to emergencies while delivering excellent customer service across multiple shifts.

Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year in security, CT Security Officer licensing, a clean driving record, and the ability to work any shift, including weekends. Weekly pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year of Security experience.
• Leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Must possess CT State Security Officer License/Registration.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen.
• Must have a valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas by foot, bike or vehicle.
• Observe for security or safety hazards and report findings.
• Respond to emergencies and alarms and contact appropriate services.
• Monitor for unauthorized persons and manage access control.
• Investigate incidents and prepare reports on accidents or suspicions.
• Provide high level customer service to clients and visitors.

We are seeking individuals capable of monitoring, analyzing and identifying situations and determining the best approach to resolve the situations they encounter. Ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, customer service skills, impressive ability to communicate well with other, and ability to think critically in any situation.

Job Skills / Requirements

Full Time

Must have be available to work any shifts-both Weekdays and Weekends (24/7) $21.74 to $23.45/hr

Specific Duties and Job Functions:

• Perform security patrols of designated areas by foot, bike or vehicle.
• Observe for any conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Respond to emergency situations and/or alarms and contact appropriate emergency services based upon situation.
• Monitor for the presence of unauthorized persons
• Maintain access control of premises and monitors entrances and exits
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities
• Provide high level of customer service and assistance to clients, client employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent (must present document)
• 21 years of age or older
• Minimum one (1) year of Security experience,
• Previous leadership experience is strongly preferred.
• Must posses a CT State Issued License as Security Officer
• Be able to pass a drug screen
• Have valid Driver's License and access to reliable transportation for travel requirements of this position

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

• Good working knowledge of Security Operations.
• Understanding of Safety Practices in a Business environment.
• Ability to provide high level of Customer Service.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Be computer proficient
• Read, understand and clearly speak English; constantly use speech and hearing in communicating with the public and co-workers, giving and receiving instructions
