Job summary

Martin Edwards & Associates Inc. (MEA) is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to protect clients and assets at the NCDOT Century Center in Raleigh. This part-time position involves monitoring premises, using CCTV, patrolling, responding to alarms, and producing incident reports.

  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military service is preferred.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with surveillance systems and loss prevention techniques is a plus.
  • Strong conflict management skills to handle challenging situations effectively.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure while making quick decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to maintain security of the premises.
  • Utilize surveillance equipment such as CCTV to observe activities within designated areas.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the facility to deter and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity.
  • Respond promptly to alarms and emergency situations, providing conflict management as necessary.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports documenting any security breaches or unusual occurrences.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary to ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Provide first aid or assistance in emergency situations until medical personnel arrive.
  • Assist in loss prevention efforts by identifying potential theft or damage risks.
  • Willing to work weekends if needed and holidays

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients and their assets. This role requires strong observational skills, the ability to respond effectively to incidents, and a commitment to upholding safety protocols. The Security Officer will monitor premises through surveillance systems, conduct regular patrols, and ensure compliance with security policies. Site location is the NCDOT Century Center in Raleigh. Position is a part-time position and schedule may vary.
