Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an unarmed Transit Security Officer in Denver, CO for full‑time daytime and evening shifts. The role involves patrolling transit facilities, ensuring safety, handling incidents, and delivering courteous service to passengers and staff.

A high school diploma and security experience are preferred, with licenses and CPR/pepper spray certifications advantageous. Salary is $21.00 per hour with a schedule spanning multiple shifts.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Pepper spray certification preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background investigation and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, service disruptions, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, damaged property, and policy violations to appropriate personnel, documenting incidents accurately and promptly.
• Assist with access control, visitor direction, and maintaining an orderly presence at transportation locations with varying environments and conditions.

What You'll Do

Minimum Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Pepper spray certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
