Job summary

American Corporate Security is seeking a Security Officer for a California terminal site. Under the Site Supervisor, you will patrol on foot and by vehicle to safeguard property, personnel, customers and visitors.

Responsibilities include door/gate checks, traffic direction, incident logging, and responding to alarms. The role requires 18+, a valid Guard Card, TWIC, and the ability to work rotating shifts in a noisy outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent, Security or Law Enforcement experience preferred.
• Must maintain a valid California BSIS Security Guard Registration (Guard Card), driver license, TWIC, and a clear driving record.
• Ability to understand and follow standard operating procedures.
• Professional demeanor and appearance.
• Observes safety and health requirements for terminal environments.
• Ability to work rotating shifts (days, evenings, nights).
• Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.
• Ability to respond to client inquiries and management communications.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols on foot and by vehicle.
• Open/close rail gates after supervisor approval.
• Prepare train and vessel arrival/departure reports.
• Check perimeter fencing per post security plan.
• Ensure doors and gates are secure against security threats.
• Direct traffic as directed by post management.
• Investigate and document perimeter alarms.
• Transport visitors, including shuttle operations.
• Open/close doors as needed and relieve other guards.
• Maintain daily activity log with noted concerns and incidents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
