Securitas US Business Unit in Topeka, KS is seeking a dedicated Security Officer for a full-time shift. The role focuses on maintaining a safe environment by monitoring premises, controlling access, patrolling sites, and enforcing site regulations for personnel and visitors.

The position requires 18+ years, a high school diploma or GED, and strong computer/tech skills. Prior security or military experience is a plus, with uniformed duties and customer service as core responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Above-average computer/technology skills needed.
• Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience a plus.
• Excellent customer service and team leadership skills needed.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
• Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant.
• Must have a professional demeanor.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid/effective judgment and escalation.

Responsibilities

• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Frequent interactions with client employees and guests.
• Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, or any suspicious activity.
• Ensure that all post orders are followed and assigned rounds are completed.
• Provide customer service and information to the client’s employees and guests.
• Utilizing technology devices throughout shift.
• Conduct tours of the property.
• Carry out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.
