Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Screener – Unarmed in Columbia, SC. You will screen personnel and visitors, monitor access points, and communicate professionally to deter incidents while supporting a welcoming security environment at a logistic location.

You will operate with a focus on customer service, site procedures, and daily shift duties, contributing to a safe and secure workplace. Training and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation will be conducted as required by law.
• Drug screen may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel while following site procedures.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, and packages per site protocols.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry to restricted areas.
• Identify and report prohibited items, irregularities, and security concerns.
• Respond to incidents calmly and perform regular patrols of areas and perimeter.

Pay Rate: $15.24 / Hour

Mon06:00 AM – 02:00 PM

Tue06:00 AM – 02:00 PM

Wed06:00 AM – 02:00 PM

Thur06:00 AM – 02:00 PM

Fri06:00 AM – 02:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.

• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, and/or packages in accordance with site procedures for a logistics and distribution location.

• Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry to restricted areas in accordance with established protocols.

• Identify and report prohibited items, irregularities, and potential security‑related concerns to site leadership or appropriate personnel.

• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, and conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and the perimeter.

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
