Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or the equivalent.
• Valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Effective oral, written communication and interpersonal skills.
• BLS/CPR from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Valid New York State Drivers License (preferred).
• Prior military/law enforcement experience or Fire Safety Director Certification (preferred).
• Prior healthcare experience (preferred).
• Verbal and physical de-escalation training (preferred).
• Computer literate (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Investigates and follows-up on incidents that compromise safety or property.
• Patrols Medical Center grounds and facilities to safeguard life and property.
• Enforces policies and procedures; recognizes hazardous situations and implements preventive measures.
• Prioritizes, completes and communicates assigned work and informs department members of status.
• Maintains confidentiality of information pertaining to patients and clinicians.
• Prepares clear, complete, and accurate written reports; submits to supervisor timely.
• Responds promptly to needs and requests from the Medical Center community and visitors.
