Job summary

United Protective Services is seeking a dependable Security Officer for a high-traffic garage serving a high-rise office building in Houston. This role requires strong situational awareness, professional demeanor, and excellent communication to assist tenants, employees, vendors, and visitors.

You will patrol, monitor access, and enforce safety rules on Fridays to Sundays, 2 PM to 10 PM, totaling 24 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a professional security role (garage or similar).
• MUST live within 20 miles of site - 77079.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to walk, stand and patrol for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vehicle and pedestrian access in and out of the garage.
• Conduct regular patrols of all garage levels and access points.
• Ensure areas are secure, well-lit, and free of hazards.
• Assist tenants, staff, and visitors with directions and inquiries.
• Report incidents and maintenance issues promptly.
• Prepare daily activity reports using company software.
• Enforce parking rules and safety procedures.

Join Our Team – Professional Security Officer Needed for High-Rise Office Building Garage

We are currently hiring a dependable and observant Security Officer to maintain safety and security at a high-traffic parking garage serving a high-rise office building. This position requires strong situational awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced, corporate environment.

As the first point of contact for tenants, employees, vendors, and visitors entering the garage, you will play a critical role in upholding our company’s commitment to safety, service, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor vehicle and pedestrian access in and out of the garage
• Conduct regular golf cart patrols of all garage levels, stairwells, and access points
• Ensure all areas are secure, well-lit, and free of safety hazards
• Assist office tenants, staff, and visitors with directions and general inquiries
• Report suspicious activity, incidents, or maintenance issues promptly
• Prepare clear and accurate daily activity reports and incident logs using company software
• Enforce property rules, parking regulations, and safety procedures at all times

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a professional security role (garage or similar environment preferred)
• MUST live within 20 miles of site - 77079
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills
• Ability to walk, stand, and patrol for extended periods, including in outdoor conditions
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Solid judgment and the ability to de-escalate situations when needed

Preferred Experience:

• Previous security, military, or law enforcement experience is a plus, but not required
• Familiarity with parking enforcement or garage access systems is a plus
