Job summary

Baptist Health Paducah seeks a PRN Security Officer to protect patients, staff and property across Baptist Health facilities. You will respond to calls, investigate incidents and support safety procedures on campus.

The role involves de-escalation of high-stress situations, monthly fire-check tasks, and campus patrols with parking control duties. PRN hours require readiness for on-site security vigilance.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire; Use of Force and Taser training within 6 months.
• Preferred: two years of experience in law enforcement, security, military, or corrections.

Responsibilities

• Answers all calls for service and answers questions related to those calls.
• Investigates incidents, completes incident reports and notifies authorities as appropriate.
• Must de-escalate high-stress, combative situations for an unknown period of time.
• Assist with monthly fire checks (extinguishers and exit signs).
• Conduct routine campus patrols and issue parking violations; assist with traffic control.

Job description

Security Officer - PRN

Provides security and protection to the person and property of those entering Baptist Health Paducah and secondary buildings associated with the operations of Baptist Health buildings, equipment, supplies, and report any misuse of any hospital buildings, equipment, and properties.

Job Duties

• Answers all calls for service and answers questions concerning these calls or responds accordingly.
• Investigates all incidents involving criminal matters, completes an incident report and reports such matters as appropriate to the proper authority.
• Required to subdue and/or de-escalate high stress, tense situations involving combative person(s) for an unknown period of time.
• Able to assist and complete required fire checks (Fire Extinguishers and Exit Signs on a monthly basis.)
• Conducts routine internal and external foot patrols on the main campus and issue parking violations and assist with traffic control as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Driver's License
• Must obtain BLS within 3 months of hire. Use of Force certification, including exposure to OC spray, pressure points and control tactics and Taser training within 6 months

Preferred Requirements

• Two (2) years' experience in the field of Law Enforcement, Security, Military and/or Corrections
