Job summary

Huntington Hospital is seeking a Security Officer Per Diem to maintain a safe and secure environment across the premises. This role patrols hospital property, answers calls, documents activities, and makes preventive recommendations.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, six months in security, a CA driver’s license, BLS certification, and annual training for Stop the Bleed and other security programs. Shifts are nights, part-time, at 100 W California Blvd, Pasadena, CA.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Six months of security or related experience.
• Current California driver’s license; must be insurable.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe and secure environment by patrolling hospital property and answering calls.
• Documents activities and investigates incidents; makes recommendations.
• Must complete in-house AVADE training within first month, annual trauma Stop the Bleed training, and annual security program updates.

Expectations:

Drivers license and Guard Card certifications are required. Require flexibility of hours (off shifts).

EDUCATION:

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

Six months of experience in Security or related field.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

Required: Current California (CA) driver's license. Must be insurable under Huntington's liability insurance. Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) issued by American Heart Association

SKILLS:

In house 8 hour AVADE training to be completed within the first month of hire. Must be renewed annually as part of an annual 40 hour Security Officer training program. Initial and annual trauma "Stop the Bleed" training within one month of hire. Read, write, speak English fluently. Basic computer knowledge, to include, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, and other hospital related programs. Basic report writing skills.

Pay Range: The estimated base rate for this position is $25.45 - $29.27. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
