Job summary

UVM Health is seeking a Security Officer to help maintain a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors on the Porter Hospital Campus and the Helen Porter Nursing Home located on site. The role involves enforcing hospital policies, patrolling the campus, and promptly responding to calls for service.

This position reports to the Security Manager and the Director of Support Services. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent and preferred prior security or law enforcement

Qualifications

• Prior law enforcement or security experience strongly preferred.
• Prior experience performing security in the healthcare environment also strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and secure environment for hospital staff, patients, and visitors on the Porter Hospital Campus.
• Conduct routine and impromptu patrols of the campus and respond to emergent/non-emergent calls for service promptly.
• Support security services for the Helen Porter Nursing Home located on site.

The primary responsibility of the Security Officer is to provide a safe and secure environment for hospital staff, patients, and visitors on the Porter Hospital Campus. Security Officers enforce hospital policies, conduct routine and impromptu patrols of the campus, respond to emergent/non emergent call for service promptly. The Security Officer will also provide service to the Helen Porter Nursing Home that is located on site. The Security Officer reports to the Security Manager and or the Director of Support Services.
