Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol Driver) in Fairfax, VA to protect utilities facilities and support a welcoming, safe environment. You will drive on-site during weekend shifts, provide exceptional customer service, maintain access control, and document activities in line with site procedures.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by law and policy.
• Allied Universal may consider applicants with criminal histories.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and utility personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor and control access to restricted utility locations by verifying credentials, observing visitor and contractor activity, and documenting entries and exits in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and complete required reports.
• Observe conditions that may affect utility operations or site access, report maintenance or security-related concerns, and maintain accurate daily activity documentation.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
