Job summary

Allied Universal in De Soto, Kansas is seeking a Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer to patrol facilities, deter incidents, and deliver exceptional service to employees, visitors, and vendors. You will monitor access points, respond to alarms, and document incidents while maintaining a visible, reassuring presence.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of security experience, are 18+ (21+ if armed), a high school diploma or equivalent, and can pass background checks and drug screening as required

• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies following established procedures and notify appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear activity reports and shift handoff communications per site requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and document security-related observations and incidents.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear and accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoff communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
