Securitas USA is hiring a Security Officer for a part-time role in Cedar Rapids, IA. The position involves 12-hour shifts from 7AM to 7PM, with a wage range of $18.00-$19.47 per hour.

The officer will monitor premises, control access, patrol sites, and enforce client regulations to keep people and assets safe. Applicants should be at least 18 with a high school diploma or GED, strong customer service, and the ability to work independently and under pressure.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Above average computer / technology skills needed.
• Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience a plus.
• Excellent customer service and team leadership skills needed.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
• Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift.
• Must have a professional demeanor.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
• All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including access control and patrolling.
• Preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for client sites pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area.
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Frequent interactions with client employees and guests.
• Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, or any suspicious activity.
• Ensure that all post orders are followed and assigned rounds are completed.
• Provide customer service and information to the client’s employees and guests.
• Utilizing technology devices throughout shift.
• Conduct tours of the property.
• Carry out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.
