Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer Enhanced at our Newark, NJ site to provide reliable access control and customer service for employees and visitors. The role offers flexible hours and the potential to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

You will be responsible for monitoring entry points, verifying IDs, and maintaining security documentation while supporting a safe, compliant work environment. Prior security experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a financial services location by carrying out access control procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, manage visitor registration, and maintain accurate access‑related records.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Help to deter unauthorized access by monitoring access control systems, following visitor management protocols, and reporting unusual activity.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated interior areas, entry points, and the business perimeter, as assigned.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Systems in Newark, NJ, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSun12:00 AM - 08:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
