Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer (Unarmed Access Patrol) in Philadelphia, PA, to protect clients across campus environments, perform patrols, maintain visibility, and support access control with professionalism.

You will join a team dedicated to service, integrity, and a people-first culture, with a flexible shift pattern and the opportunity to learn new roles through our Claim a Shift platform.

Qualifications

• Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence halls, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations, with working environments and conditions varying by assignment.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, unsecured doors, hazards, and other security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Assist with access control, visitor direction, and the documentation of incidents, patrol activities, and security-related observations.

What You'll Do:
