Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Access Control Operations in Portsmouth, VA. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor systems, and provide excellent customer service at an aerospace/defense site.

Qualifications

• Background check per federal/state/local laws.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out access control procedures.
• Verify identification, credentials, access authorizations, and visitor documentation before entry to controlled areas.
• Monitor access points, alarms, cameras, and security-related systems; document and report unusual activity or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations following site procedures and communicating with appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, restricted areas, and facility perimeter.

Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Wed: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

Thur: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Verify identification, credentials, access authorizations, and visitor documentation before permitting entry to controlled areas.
• Monitor access points, alarms, cameras, and security-related systems; document and report unusual activity, access discrepancies, and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established site procedures and communicating with appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, restricted areas, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized access.

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
