Job summary

Allied Universal, Harrisburg, PA, is seeking a part-time Security Officer with access control responsibilities. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, and provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a welcoming environment for employees and visitors.

The role offers flexible weekend shifts, on-site work, and opportunities to learn our security processes and claim additional shifts through our platform. A background check and drug screen are required by law.

Qualifications

• 18+ years for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation conducted as required by law.

• Drug screen required wherever permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and security-related procedures at a logistics and distribution site.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, manage visitor and contractor entries.
• Respond to incidents and alarms in a calm, proactive manner and notify appropriate contacts or emergency personnel.
• Conduct regular patrols of the facility, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter.
• Observe traffic and support gate operations for deliveries and restricted areas.

Pay Rate: $18.54 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Sun: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, manage visitor and contractor entry, and maintain accurate access-control records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access-control alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency personnel as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and report unusual conditions.
• Observe inbound and outbound vehicle and personnel traffic, support gate operations, and follow established procedures for deliveries, shipments, and restricted areas.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
