Job summary

Security America, Inc. is seeking a Part Time Security Officer for the Morgantown area. The role involves patrolling a designated area, reporting suspicious activity, and ensuring overall security of the site.

Ideal candidates have strong observation, communication, and calmness under pressure. Flexible scheduling is required to cover 1st/2nd shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Contacts law enforcement or fire department in emergencies.

Job Skills / Requirements

NEW HIRE BONUS $100.00 for part time after 90 days worked and $150.00 bonus for full time security officers after first 60 days worked.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Patrols and monitors an assigned area; report suspicious activities and document all suspicious activity;
• Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency;
• Investigates reports of suspicious activity on the property;
• Escorts unwelcome parties off the premises;
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail;
• Possess written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations;
• Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings;
• Ability to communicate using a phone or handheld radios;

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience a plus, but not required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly;
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk;
• Prolonged periods standing and observing the property surroundings;
• Have the ability to twist and bend at the waist frequently;

Applicants meeting the basic requirements for the security officer position must:

• Be at least 18 years of age;
• Be able to work flexible schedules;
• Have a high school diploma, GED, or 10 years of verifiable work experience;
• Applicants being considered for hire must: drug free before beginning work or receiving an offer of employment. Refusal to submit to testing will result in disqualification of further employment consideration;
• Applicants taking a prescribed medication must have it in a container labeled by a licensed pharmacist;
• Have access to reliable transportation to and from the work location;
• Be authorized to work in the U.S.;
• Be able to meet state licensing requirements for Security Officers, if required.
