Job summary

Tarian Guard Services, part of a nationwide security organization, is hiring for security officers in the Manhattan area. You will maintain security, deter crime, and support clients and communities with professional vigilance.

The position requires a NYS Security Guard License, a high school diploma or GED, and CPR certification, with background checks and drug screening. Physical endurance and driving eligibility may apply.

Qualifications

• A pre-employment background check and drug screen are required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid NYS Security Guard License required.
• Previous security and customer service experience preferred.
• CPR Certification preferred.
• Must be able to stand/walk entire shift and lift up to 80 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet Tariandriving guidelines if applicable (Driving Roles).

Responsibilities

• Maintain security and safety throughout the organization and deter illegal activities.
• Care for fellow officers, clients, and their property.
• Adhere to company service and operating standards.
• Immediately respond to emergencies and provide necessary assistance.
• Follow procedures for fire prevention, property patrol, and incident reporting.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

You will conduct the following responsibilities upholding Tarian’s commitment to safety and security while supporting the values and culture of the client and community:

• Security Officers are responsible for maintaining security and safety throughout the organizaion - and serve as a visible deterrent to illegal activities.
• A commitment to taking care of fellow officers, our clients, and their property
• Adhere to all Company service and operating standards
• Immediately respond to emergencies & provide necessary assistance
• Follow procedures for fire prevention, property patrol, and incident reporting
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

A pre-employment background check and drug screen are required for this position upon receiving a conditional offer of employment.

Education & Experience

• Completed High School Diploma or GED
• Valid and Current New York State Security Guard License
• Previous security experience
• Previous customer service experience
• CPR Certification
• Strong vision abilities including color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for an entire work shift, move or lift objects up to 80 lbs.,
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet Tariandriving guidelines if applicable (for Driving Roles).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work hours will vary depending on assignments, client schedules, project deadlines, and the needs of the company. Workweeks may exceed 40 hours and may involve any of the7 days of the week, depending on the needs of the business. The work environment may be fast-paced and stressful or may also be quiet and slow-paced. All environments and pace of work will require alertness and ability to perform under pressure.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit, stand, and walk for variable amounts of time throughout an assigned shift; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects 25 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Frequently engages in mental concentration, analysis, and formulation.
